Sheriff's officials in Pine County say the four people killed and a fifth injured in a collision between a semi and a pickup truck were from the area.

Those killed in the collision on County Road 32, also known as Rutabaga Road, include two men, Arden Edwards, 58 from Bruno, and Brett Larson, 21, from Sandstone. One woman, Catherine Peterson, 21, from Askov. And Felicity Jensen, 17, from Bruno, were also killed.

A 21-year-old man remains at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in critical condition.

All were in the pickup, which authorities say turned in front of the on-coming semi on Tuesday evening. The semi driver wasn't hurt.

Chief Deputy Steven Blackwell said it appears to be a tragic accident, with no wrong-doing by any party.

People were stopping by the scene on Wednesday. They walked along the area where there were still pieces of the vehicles and plastic gloves on the ground.

Cousins who we met said the 58-year-old victim is an uncle of at least one of the younger victims in the accident.

The girls also told Eyewitness News it was the 58-year-old man's birthday when the accident occurred. They said the 17-year-old girl is loved and will be missed by many. She attended East Central for school.

Chief Deputy Blackwell said it's not clear who was driving or where everyone was sitting, because four people were ejected.

They are sorting out who the victims are related to and what relationships they are in with each other.

A state patrol reconstruction specialist will be helping with the case.

The accident happened on a busy roadway with a 55 mph speed limit.

The sheriff's office said names will be released soon.
