Robert Dezelske 3rd Grade Greenway School District Teaching for 38 years
WHY HE WAS NOMINATED: Mr. Dezelske, better known as "Mr. D" to the students, takes a lot of pride in his work, the school and his classes. Mr. D puts the students first. He enjoys seeing them excel in every thing they try, and even gets right in to push them a bit further. Don't be surprised if you see Mr. D partaking in a contest or two on the playground. He leaves a lasting impact on each of his students.

| What is your most memorable moment as an Educator? |

"In 2005 our school received a Minnesota School of Excellence Award and a N.C.L.B. National Blue Ribbon Award. In 2007, the National Distinguished Principal of the Year Award and in 2009, a N.C.L.B. National Blue Ribbon School Nomination." |
| If you could pass along one piece of wisdom, what would it be? |

"Treat each student with dignity and respect. When your classroom knows you truly care about them, their level of trust grows and so does their desire to learn." |
| If you weren't an educator what would you be? |
|
"I really can't see myself doing any thing but being a teacher. I enjoy being in school. The people I work with are remarkable." |
| What do you do during summer vacation? |
|
"I work for Children's Mental Health in a summer school program called Reach. It's an activity based program to help a special group of students." |

Mr. Dezelske has been married to Mary Lou for 37 years. He has 3 children: Casey, Kelly and Andrea. They have 4 grandchildren: Macey, Josi, Caden and Olivia. Mr. D and Mary Lou enjoy riding bicycles, cross-country skiing, fishing, hunting and hanging out with their grandchildren. |
