Pat Hensler's son, Alex, got this Les Paul guitar partly with the money his mom received when she sold his old guitar through Craigslist. "It was right around Christmas and the father was buying it for his son, so it really worked out well, knowing that we were going to be giving it to a deserving person and he would benefit, just like my son," said Hensler.
These days, there's a real market for used items that are lying around your house or garage. You can sell used instruments, sports equipment & video games at secondhand chains like Music Go Round, Play It Again Sports & GameStop. "Gamestop will actually buy back video games for about $15 a piece or more, depending on whether or not they are in high demand. Other games will go for a little bit less, so you should do some research before you go to make sure it was worth the trip," said Andie Huber, of the Good Housekeeping Institute.
If you want to sell old electronics products, check out a website like gazelle.com.
