Katie Nordeen
After four years of living and learning in Boulder, Colorado (Go Buffs!), Katie Nordeen is thrilled to be back in Minnesota, yelling "Go Vikes and Go Pack!" Katie joined the WDIO News Team in June of 2008, just one month after she graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.
She grew up in the Twin Cities, but says some of her fondest childhood memories come from her family camping trips to the Northland! Katie is excited to call herself a Duluth resident and looks forward to learning more about her new community.
When Katie was young, she aspired to be an only child (she has 10 siblings!) But when that didn't work out, she decided journalism to be her true calling! Katie had a summer internship at a Twin Cities television station, and loved the daily challenges of working in a fast-paced newsroom. During her senior year at the University of Colorado, she worked as part of a student-run television news broadcast, called NewsTeam Boulder-- the city's only live broadcast.
When she is not working, Katie enjoys running and spending time outdoors. She also loves to bake!
