A job fair on Wednesday aimed to diversify Duluth's workforce, specifically in construction.

The fair was put on by multiple organizations, including Community Action Duluth and The Employment Table. The goal was to connect job seekers with employers in the field of construction.

Community Action Duluth Employment Coach Maria Princen said there are currently many opportunities in construction, and women and people of color are underrepresented in that field.

"Creating these conduits for conversations to happen between certain populations and communities in Duluth and the people who do the hiring is really integral to actually bringing people out of poverty," Princen said.
