Fundraiser for Kent Christianson's Family to Honor Life of Giving

Kent "Fastline Graphix" Christianson was a man who had many friends. And those friends are rallying to support his family.

On Monday, the friends received the sad news that Christianson had passed away. He was 49 years old.

The Hermantown business owner had been down in the Twin Cities at the University of Minn. hospital, trying to recover from a double lung transplant. His surgery was at the end of June. He had developed a pneumonia like infection that severely damaged his lungs.

His friends from his bowling league at Skyline Lanes told Eyewitness News that Kent is very deserving of this help, because he himself has given to many community events, like the ALS Blizzard Tour and ALS Fishing Tournament.

"The minute you meet him, you know he's a guy of great character," said Kelly Greenwalt, who's on the bowling team with Kent.

So is Jerry Koneczny. "I've known him for 17 years. What you see is what you get with Kent."

And Dan Boese. "He's always been a hard worker, and gives back to his community."

The benefit is Thursday, from 5-8pm, at Skyline Lanes in Hermantown. Even with the news that he had passed on, the organizers say this will now be a celebration of life.

There will be a taco bar, auction, and raffle, among other family fun. Tickets are $10, and you can get them at Skyline Lanes, Troy's Amoco, and Accurate Auto Repair.
