Superior's Bogojevic Returns Home

By: Eyewitness Sports

Superior, Wisc. - With a nickname like 'The Bulldozer,' Superior's Niko Bogojevic could have a future in pro-wrestling and he has given that some thought. But, wrestling in the Summer Olympics is a goal and he recently won some hardware at an international competition.

The heavyweight wrestled on the U.S. World Greco-Roman Team at the Pan American Championships in Mexico City, Mexico on July 15th and won an individual bronze medal. He went 3-1 in matches, with his only loss coming to Mijain Lopez of Cuba in the semifinals. Mijan Lopez is a two-time Olympic gold medal winner and would win gold at the 2014 Pan American Championships. Bogojevic bounced back to edge Eduardo Lopez of Puerto Rico in the bronze medal match.

The 2010 Wisconsin State Champ is back in his hometown, but will soon return to Colorado State-Pueblo and get ready to compete in the upcoming collegiate season. But, the Olympics are a thought.

"If we end up shy in that year in 2016, then we'll just go the next (Olympic) year. It is kind of like a ladder that you keep climbing and there are setbacks, but there are setbacks everywhere in life and there are no guarantees in life, but you just got to keep plugging away," says Bogojevic.

Niko Bogojevic is back in his hometown of Superior, visiting family and friends.
