West Duluth Garage Fire Sparks during Early Morning Storms

The Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a fully engulfed garage fire early Tuesday morning at 2260 W. 13th Street. Twenty firefighters arrived at the scene and attacked the fire, quickly gaining control of the blaze.

Downed power lines also brought Minnesota Power to the scene.

The garage had two cars and a motorcycle inside and all were a total loss. Initial damage estimates are set at $35,000. 

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Department Marshal's office.

    Gas prices in Duluth have gone up about 10 cents in the last 24 hours. They jumped seven cents on Thursday alone, from $2.22 to $2.29, where they sat on Friday.
