Light Rail Train Kills Pedestrian in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a METRO Blue Line train in south Minneapolis.

The Star Tribune reports the accident happened shortly before 3 p.m. Friday along Hiawatha Avenue.

Replacement buses are carrying passengers between the Franklin Avenue and 46th Street stations for now.

No information about the person killed was immediately available. Authorities were on scene and investigating.
