The 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz, means that the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids will be hosting their annual Wizard of Oz Festival!

This is the 39th year of the celebration, and it's held by the Judy Garland Museum. June 10th through the 15th, you can experience the festivities.

The exhibit this year includes 3,000 items related to the movie, including the carriage that brought Dorothy and her friends into the Emerald City, an original Winkie Guard spear used at the Wicked Witch of the West's castle, Dorothy's Adrian-designed 1938 pinafore test dress, and so much more.

Executive Director John Kelsch joined us on the show. He brought a few very cool pieces of memorabilia with him, such as an original Wizard of Oz book and a few photos!

He tells us that on Friday, June 13th at 5:30 p.m. on the Evergreen Terrace Lawn next to the Judy Garland Museum, they will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most fully costumed Wizard of Oz character costumes gathered in one place for a minimum of five minutes, so be sure to be there to join in on the record breaking attempt!

The festival runs from June 10th - 15th. All events take place in Grand Rapids, and for a complete calender, head to their website at judygarlandmuseum.com.
