Three memorial services have been scheduled for the late Minnesota Congressman Jim Oberstar.

Two of the services will take place in the Northland.

The first is set for Friday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harborview Ballroom of the DECC. Another is scheduled later the same day at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chisholm.

The previous day, June 26, the long-serving congressman will be memorialized in a service at Cowles Auditorium in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.

Jim Oberstar, the son of an Iron Range miner who went on to represent northeastern Minnesota in Congress for decades, died at his home in Maryland last month. He was 79 years old.
