After 2 Separate Decisions, Twins Bar's Days Likely Numbered

A vote on Wednesday and a court ruling on Thursday mean a bar in Duluth's Hillside neighborhood likely will not be up and running for much longer.

Dennis Birchland, with Duluth's Alcohol, Gambling, and Tobacco Commission says there have been gun issues, fights and even allegations of prostitution at the Twins Bar on East 4th Street.

On Wednesday, the commission voted four to zero recommending that their liquor license be revoked.

Charlie Lemon, who rents out the space, also says bar owner Carl Green is several months late on rent. Lemon says Green failed to show up for a court hearing Thursday morning about his eviction. The judge ruled in Lemon's favor.

The City Council still has to vote on whether to revoke the bar's liquor license. Birchland tells us that will happen sometime next month.

Green could not be reached for comment on this story.
