Bemidji Child's Death Investigated

Bemidji Police are investigating the death of a child in what appears to be an accident.

Emergency personnel assisted with CPR on the four-year-old child in the 2700 block of Birchmont Drive NE around 10 a.m. Thursday.  The child was then taken to a hospital, where efforts to revive the child were unsuccessful.

The Bemidji Police Department said the cause of the death appears to be accidental, but an investigation is underway.

    A dog was killed when a cabin in northern St. Louis County caught fire Thursday evening. The fire started in a bedroom area and is not considered suspicious.
