Kuhlman, Kaskisuo Sign National Letters of Intent with UMD

Duluth, Minn. - The UMD men's hockey team has announced two new additions with Northland ties as goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo and forward Karson Kuhlman signed National Letters of Intent to attend and play hockey for the Bulldogs.

Kaskisuo is a native of Finland and played for the Cloquet-based Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League this past winter and had a league best goals against average (1.48) and saves percentage (.944), as well as the second highest shutout total (nine) despite missing a sizable portion of the regular season with a lower body injury. Kaskisuo appeared in 32 regular season games and had a 21-6-5 record

Kuhlman is from Esko and played prep hockey for Cloquet-Esko-Carlton. In his one full season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of United State Hockey League, Kuhlman led the tam in regular season goals with 25 and added 19 assists for 44 points. He was also selected as a 2013-14 midseason USHL All-Star as part of the Eastern Conference second team.
