The criminal sexual conduct case against the Cook County attorney will move forward, according to Friday's ruling from Judge Shaun Floerke.

The ruling denies a defense motion to dismiss the indictment.

Tim Scannell's attorney had argued that there was not enough probable cause to lead the grand jury to indict his client on two counts.

Scannell is accused of sexually touching a 17-year-old girl, whom he had known since her childhood.

He has been on medical leave since October of 2013.
