The Duluth area speech team will be entertaining the public during their annual "Speech Concert" fundraiser on Thursday, March 20th. Over 40 kids from Duluth Denfeld and East have been practicing their skills.  The event will be held at East High School Auditorium, 301 N 40th Ave E, Duluth, MN at 7:00 PM.

This hard working group of students have been getting together every Saturday for the last 11 weeks to represent the Duluth area.  Assistant Coach Brandon Wagner says that speech isn't just a school event.

"The students are learning a skill that will stay with them through college and through life," Wagner said. He told Eyewitness News that Denfeld has had a speech team for 72 years and combined with Duluth East to make a unified Duluth team 6 years ago.

The event is held each year as a fundraiser to help send students to National tournaments. The Duluth Team will be sending kids to the Neitoc Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College on May 9 - 11.  Tickets are $5 at the door.

Come see a night of award winning speech performances at their annual "Speech Concert" on Thursday, March 20 at 7:00PM.
