St. Paddy's Day at Carmody

St. Patrick's Day is on Monday and Carmody Irish Pup in Downtown Duluth is gearing up for the big Irish celebration.  Good Morning Northland anchor Brittany Falkers headed there to get a preview of what they'll be serving for the popular holiday.  

"When we opened up the pub down here, we didn't know it was going to take off like it did," owner Rick Boo said.  "We didn't know how many closet Irishman were out there."

The downtown location has a great selection of Irish brews on tap.  There's the grandfather of all beers, as Boo puts it, Guinness Irish Stout.  They also serve Guinness lighter option, the Harp Lager.  For those who are a little indecisive, Boo suggest a mix of the two called a Black and Tan.

Carmody also brews their own beer.  This St. Paddy's day you can try their signature Irish Red, the Agnes Red.  Or, if you're feeling extra Irish, check out the Famine Potato Stout, brewed with real potatoes.

Finally, a St. Patrick's day tradition, the green beer will also be on tap.

For the past nine years, Boo says the downtown Duluth location has been a real hot spot on St. Patrick's day.  "It just seems to be that that's the day everybody comes at once."

Many people will head to Carmody Irish Pub in downtown Duluth, but their Two Harbors location is also cooking up a St. Paddy's day dish that'll have you feeling Irish.  They'll be serving a tasty boiled dinner with corn beef brisket and baked cabbage.

    The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a Lake Nebagamon teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.  15-year-old Seth N. Stariha, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • Missing Employee Found at Soudan Underground Mine State Park

    Authorities have located 76-year-old Adrienne De Vries at the Soudan Underground Mine State Park. De Vries is an employee of the park, and lost her way when walking down a trail. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department says she was transported to Ely Hospital to get checked as a precautionary.
