Duluth Crews Fill Potholes Ahead of Snow, But Don't Expect Fixes to Last Long

Believe it or not, before the snow began Thursday, street maintenance crews in the City of Duluth were filling potholes.

Maintenance Operations Manager Kelly Fleissner told Eyewitness News that freeze-thaw conditions are making existing holes even bigger, some of which are bad enough to damage cars. Unfortunately he said plowing will quickly tear the patching material out of the road they just fixed.

Fleissner said "if it is made well and if there is a tight fit we can go over it a few times with the plow, so we try to do as high-quality job of patching as we can."
