The Northland was warned about another Winter Storm, and although many of us woke to mild temperatures and some sunshine, winter reared its ugly head once again. Snow started to fall in the western portion of our viewing area before lunch and quickly moved eastward.
Snow will be heavy at times and continue through the night. Travel will be difficult. Here are snowfall totals as of 3:30 pm Friday.

Close Council Vote Saves Ashland Ore Dock
A decision whether to save the historic ore dock in Ashland split the city council Tuesday night, but with a 6 to 5 vote the council approved taking control of the dock. Mayor Bill Whalen said over $3 million offered by the dock's current owner, Canadian National, should help improve it for future use.

A key Minnesota lawmaker said Tuesday she doesn't see a path forward for legalizing medical marijuana after talks with law enforcement hit a standstill. Rep. Carly Melin, DFL-Hibbing, said she had conceded to virtually all demands from law enforcement over the weekend but was still unable to get their support for her bill.
