It was a big day for UMD Football. Thirty student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to play football for the reigning six-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division Champs, while four others signed a Letter of Acceptance. It was one of the largest recruiting classes in the 82-year history of UMD football.
"We graduated 21 seniors from last fall so this necessitated us to recruit a larger group," UMD head coach Curt Wiese said in a release. "I foresee a handful of these incoming freshmen having an immediate impact with us."
Coach Wiese said the objective of this year's recruiting class was to add depth at all positions. "I believe we accomplished that," Wiese said.
