Prep athletes will put pen to paper on Wednesday for National Signing Day as they make their college commitments and Moose Lake-Willow River's Ezra Szczyrbak is going Division I, but not as originally planned to North Dakota State. Instead, he plans to play Defensive End at Northern Iowa. North Dakota State has won the last three NCAA Division I FCS National Championships, but Szczyrbak likes the idea of helping a program reach their first title.

"When I played at Moose Lake/Willow River, we never won a state championship and that was my goal throughout my four years of varsity, to get to a state championship and win it. We came close last year (2012), but it wasn't close enough. So my goal at UNI, they have never won it there and I want to be one of the building blocks to get to that next level and win a national championship," says Szczyrbak.

Szczyrbak was a three-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines. He was also a Mr. Football finalist in 2013.
