2014 John Beargrease Tuesday Update

Created: 01/28/2014 8:46 AM WDIO.com

As of Tuesday morning, the Beargrease mushers were on their way to Devil Track Resort, the sixth checkpoint in the race.

Laura Kennedy, with Eyewitness Sports, called in from Devil Track about 6:45 Tuesday morning. She told us that while they had originally expected mushers to begin arriving at Devil Track around 6:00 AM, they would now not expect them to begin arriving until 8:30 AM.

Laura said that mushers can now sleep when they want, and they are beginning to spread out more.

At 5:00 AM on Tuesday morning, it was -29 degrees outside near Grand Marais, so it is crucial for mushers to keep a close eye on their dogs condition.
