Chances are you've either got a smartphone, need a smartphone, or you can't figure out how to make the thing work.

The new Verizon Wireless store opens near the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth on Thursday morning. The business had to relocate to a kiosk in the mall temporarily after 2012 flooding damaged their old building.

District Manager Matt Hagert told Eyewitness News that the new store features the "smart store design," and that it's only the second like it in Minnesota.

"Instead of having everything in the back of the store that we have to bring out to you, we want you to see it all, feel it, play with it, get your hands on it," Hagert said. "This entire store is about that wow factor."

Hagert said the focus of the new store's design is on the customer experience. "Verizon Wireless is pushing all of the stores into this over the next couple of years."

At the new location, Hagert said customers will also find the "Wireless Workshop." He said the store will hold classes held several times each day to teach customers about using a smartphone, regardless of their cell phone service provider.

It seems an hour doesn't go by without several television campaign ads criticizing a candidate for having millions of dollars or trying to line his or her pockets at government expense. Class warfare is nothing new in politics, but it certainly is more pronounced in Minnesota this year because of two Republican candidates: Stewart Mills and Mike McFadden. They've been the target of a barrage of attack ads aimed at their personal wealth and how they accumulated it.
