With another round of dangerously cold weather forecasted for the Northland, Duluth's Street Outreach Team is asking for your help in keeping those without a home, out of the elements.
Members of the community who are homeless or who have tips on locations of people living outside, in vehicles, or in unheated buildings are encouraged to contact the street outreach hotline at 218-461-8505.
Outreach workers will assist people in finding warm places to sleep.
The Outreach Team says that in recent weeks, several homeless people have suffered serious frostbite and may need amputations.
The Street Outreach Team is also asking for donations.
They're in need of warm winter boots, hand and foot warmers, solar or crank flashlights, bus passes, and gas cards.
Donations can be left at CHUM, located at 102 W Second St., from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
They can also be left at Loaves & Fishes, located at 1712 Jefferson St., from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. any day of the week.
