Berta Lippert came on the show Friday morning to help us out with staying on a healthy track this New Year.
Berta is an international speaker, trainer, consultant and coach. She is also a previvor. A previvor is a survivor of a predisposition to cancer.
Berta came in to talk about achieving goals, and not giving up on your resolutions, or any time of year you might decide to start your healthier life. She says that those who succeed at their resolution is that "they focus on why they are achieving their goal."
However, if you do have setbacks in your goals, Berta says to focus on the "feel(ing) of achieving that goal," and stay positive.
Berta also showed us something very simple to make, to help get the nutrients you need every day. She gave us a recipe for a smoothie that will get you some of the servings of fruits and vegetables you need. You can adjust this recipe as you need. One viewer already emailed in telling us how much they love this smoothie! Berta suggests adjusting the ingredient amounts to your own needs, as the recipe may produce to much or too little of a smoothie depending on the person.
