Gary Anderson, a community organizer from Duluth, has announced his entry into the race for the Minnesota House District 7A seat, currently held by Tom Huntley.

Anderson held a kickoff campaign Thursday afternoon at Carmody Irish Pub & Brewery.

Huntley, whose district includes East Duluth, has served 11 terms in the Legislature and is chair of the House Health and Human Services Finance Committee.

Republican Donna Bergstrom and DFL'er Linda Krug announced their candidacy in December. Anderson announced his candidacy on Thursday morning.

The election is in November 2014, with a new representative taking office in January 2015.

Gary Anderson announces at Carmody's in Duluth that he's seeking the DFL endorsement and running for Minnesota's House District 7A seat being vacated by Rep. Tom Huntley, DFL-Duluth.
