Wis. State, Federal Officials to Discuss Health Care Law

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - State and federal health care officials are scheduled to discuss implementation of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law during a panel presentation.

Wisconsin Health News has organized the Dec. 10 event in Madison that is scheduled to bring together the government officials as well as others in the health care industry.

Those scheduled to appear at the panel include Kathleen Falk, director of a regional office of the federal Department of Health and Human Services and Kevin Moore, deputy secretary of the state department.

Kevin Hayden, the head of Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin and Therese Pandl, president of the eastern Wisconsin division of Hospital Sisters Health System are also both scheduled to be there.

    The Pine County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a man and two children who have not been seen since last week.  Authorities say 44-year-old Peter John Kunze and his two juvenile children failed to appear in court for a custody hearing on Friday and they are concerned for the children's welfare.

  • Matthew R. Reder and Jordyn A. Mazanec Runaway Teen Sought in Ironwood

    Jordyn A. Mazanec, 16, was last seen Monday in Ironwood after having a verbal disagreement during a phone call.  Mazanec's vehicle and cell phone were located near the Mt. Zion ski hill in Ironwood.
