Duluth Council Approves Annexation of Midway Township Parcel
After taking a possible annexation by Proctor to court earlier this year, a portion of Midway Township will become a part of Duluth. An 8-1 Duluth City Council vote on Monday night approved the orderly annexation of 'Parcel I' - a southern part of the township that was already substantially owned by the city.
Duluth City Council Gives Final Approval for Tourism Tax
The Duluth City Council cleared its final political hurdle to reinstate a half-percent 'tourism tax' on Monday night. The unanimously approved measure imposes the tax on hotel and motel stays, along with food and beverage purchases at bars and restaurants.
