Rob and Zach stopped by the show on October 14th to talk about a new comedic operetta they are in, called Die Fledermaus.

This show, originally composed in German, will be sung in English. The name, Die Fledermaus, literally means The Bat. The performance will take place at the Marshall Performing Arts Center (MPAC) at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

The operetta is set in the 1920's, rather than it's traditional late 19th century setting. Zach will be  playing Eisenstein, while Rob will be playing Falke. Eisenstein is a man who has been sentenced to prison, but skips out to go to a dance where hijinks ensue. Rob plays Falke, who invites Eisenstein to the dance.

"It's best to blame it all on the champagne." A practical joke. A secret rendezvous. One man's elaborate plan for revenge leads to a rousing evening of mistaken mishaps and identities, a comedic masquerading operetta composed by Johann Strauss II to an English libretto by Ruth and Thomas Martin.

This production is a collaboration between the UMD Music and Theater Departments.

You can catch this great show on October 17-19th at 7:30 PM at the MPAC (1215 Ordean Ct, Duluth), or on October 20th at 2:00 PM. You can find more information on UMD's website. You can get tickets also by calling 218-726-8561.
