Mount Rushmore National Monument will reopen on Monday after donors stepped forward to help reopen South Dakota's best-known attraction.

Because of the partial government shutdown, states have to foot the bill to open national parks.  South Dakota said the National Park Service was charging the state $15,200 per day to operate the monument.

Mount Rushmore will reopen Monday at 8 a.m. Mountain time.

Elsewhere, Arizona and New York have reached deals with the Interior Department to reopen Grand Canyon National Park and Statue of Liberty National Monument.
