The Lake Superior Zoo is offering what they are calling a "fur"loughed discount.

That means that federal workers who have been furloughed during the government shutdown can receive a discount on ticket prices throughout the shutdown. The only exception is that the full ticket price must be paid during the "Boo at the Zoo" event on October 12th and 19th.

The discount allows adults to receive $2 off of the ticket price, and children of furloughed workers will receive $1 off of their ticket. Those who are furloughed must show their ID or proof of federal employment to get the discount.

The zoo is open seven days a week, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
