October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and events kick off with a big event this weekend in Duluth.
Saturday, October 5th at 9 a.m. hundreds of community members with gather at Duluth's Lake Superior College (LSC) for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
This 5K walk is a great opportunity for folks in the Northland community to connect with others and to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. The American Cancer Society says it's a chance to join them and hundreds of people in Duluth to change the course of breast cancer forever.
The American Cancer Society works to help people with breast cancer through research and fundraising support. Today, one in every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer contacts the American Cancer Society for help and support.
Saturday is your chance to step up and help too and it's not too late to sign up. Registrations is at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. The walk with begin at 9 a.m. at LSC. Everyone is welcome! For more information visit their Web Site at www.makingstrideswalk.org.
