UMD to Honor Former Chancellor by Renaming Library

Former University of Minnesota Duluth Chancellor Kathryn A. Martin will receive the honor of a lifetime for lasting impact on campus. The college will rename its library in honor of her Monday, October 7, 2013.
Martin will be recognized for the support she has given UMD throughout her 15 years as chancellor, UMD said in a press release Monday.
Several activities will be held for the dedication on Oct. 7, including library tours from 3 - 3:30 p.m. The dedication ceremony will be held in the library from 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. with an all-campus reception the library from 4:15 until 5 p.m. Then, the 12th Annual Weber Concert in the Weber Music Hall begining at 7:30 p.m.
Martin served as chancellor for the University of Minnesota Duluth from 1995 until 2010. She was the first female chancellor in the University of Minnesota system, according to UMD.
