Superior Young Professionals Host Inaugural Event

The Superior Young Professionals are a new organization. Their mission is to "connect the young professionals who live and/or work in Superior community to strengthen the Superior community," according to Eric Siljendahl, President of the Superior Young Professionals., or SYP.

They are hosting a kickoff event at the Nemadji Golf Course Clubhouse. This event is free, and there will be a taco bar. SYP hopes to have a great start to their new group. They want to be as inclusive as possible. "Young at heart is good enough for us!" said Brett Brodeen, a board memper for SYP.

"It's vitally important (to network)", said Brodeen. It's a great way to maintain relationship and retain young people in the area, he continued.

Their event kicks off Thursday, September 26th at the Nemadji Golf Course Clubhouse at 5:00 PM. All young professionals living or working in Superior are welcome to attend. There is a free taco bar and you'll get a drink ticket too.

Former state legislator Tom Rukavina and Christina Hujanen are fighting for the District Four seat.

    Duluth City councilors voted 5-4 to approve a maximum tax levy increase for 2015, but not without making some changes first.

    City Councilor Mike Herrick made the official announcement on Monday night. He says his campaign will focus on continuing to grow the city, keeping young people in the city, and making Superior more business-friendly.
