The Pillowman at Teatro Zuccone

Created: 09/18/2013 8:47 AM WDIO.com

"This is one of my favorite plays of all time," said Renegade Theater Company's  Artistic Director, Katy Helbacka in a press release.

The Pillowman is coming to Teatro Zuccone in September, on the weekends of the 19-21st and the 26-28th, and in October on the 3-5th.  All of the showings are at 8:00 PM.

This show originally ran 5 years ago, and Renegade Theater tells us it was an "artistic and critical success", except for the fact that no one saw it! But it's 5 years later, two of the original cast are reprising their roles, and the original director is back too! Andy Bennet will reprise his role as Detective Tupolski, and Evan Kelly will once again play Detective Arial, while Anika Thompson will direct again.

"The Pillowman is the story of a writer who is brought in for an interrogation about the stories he is writing." Evan goes on to say that events in the town have begun to reflect the stories, which are about murders.

"It takes place in the unnamed, totalitarian government," Andy tells us, and the cops have more than a few questions for the author, named Katurian.

So be sure to check out The Pillowman at Teatro Zuccone in Duluth, produced by the Renegade Theater Company, on September 19-21st, 26-28th, and October 3-5th. All shows are at 8:00 PM. Adult tickets are $18, students and seniors are just $15. Call 218-336-1414 for ticket information or purchase them online.
