  • Sandstone Wildcat Sanctuary Completes its Biggest Cat Rescue

    It was the conclusion to the biggest and longest cross-country rescue ever on Wednesday at The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone. The rescue of three cats and a leopard has been nearly four years in the making for the cat's former owner and more than a year in the making for sanctuary, which takes in big cats who've been surrendered by owners or by law enforcement action.

    A government audit recommends the Federal Emergency Management Agency recover $1.5 million given to Duluth for 2012 flood aid. An audit found the city did not follow federal procurement standards in awarding the money for eight non-emergency contracts.

    A section of Highway 100 from Highway 4 to Highway 99 will be renamed in honor of Sheriff's Deputy Brad Anderson, who died in the line of duty 13 years ago. Colleagues called Anderson "tenacious" and a hard worker.

  • Trial Date Set for 7 Minnesotans in Terror Case

    A federal judge has set a trial date of Feb. 16 for seven Minnesotans accused of conspiring to travel to Syria to fight for the Islamic State group. U.S. District Judge Michael Davis set the date during a hearing Wednesday.
