The Knife Lake Fire in the Boundary Waters is 100 percent contained as of Saturday, according to Forest Service officials.
The blaze burned about 188 acres on the South Arm of Knife Lake. Although it is 100 percent contained, it will not be declared controlled until a band around the control line is mopped up.
The Forest Service already announced Friday that campfire restrictions for the Gunflint and portions of the Tofte Districts were lifted. The South Arm of Knife Lake was reopened at 7 p.m. Friday.
Thursday night rainfall totaling 1.8 inches helped firefighters battling the blaze on Knife Lake.
Two other fires have already been extinguished: one on Disappointment Lake and one on Sedative Lake.
