Miracle Treat Day

Thursday, August 8 is the perfect time to throw calorie counting to the wind and enjoy you Dairy Queen Blizzard.  That's because it's Miracle Treat Day and proceeds will go to help the Children's Miracle Network.

It's a great opportunity to help out a great cause that does so much for kids in need while enjoying a tasty ice cream treat.  Stores donate $1 or more per blizzard treat sold to the Children's Miracle Network and that money stays local.

Enjoying a blizzard at your Northland Dairy Queens will go to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, which serves kids throughout Minnesota and has a fully-staffed permanent clinic in Duluth.

Last year Gillette provided care to more than 25,000 children at it's St. Paul hospital, outpatient clinics and Mobile Outreach Clinic, a traveling clinic brining Gillette's services to famlies throughout Minnesota.

The Pike Lake Dairy Queen is going above and beyond.  Manager JoAnne Sticks says it's fun every year and it feels good to help such a deserving organization.

Their location will also have an all day silent auction to raise even more money.  Sticks says local Hermantown businesses donated a lot of prizes for the auction. So be sure to check that out while grabbing your blizzard. The Pike Lake Dairy Queen is located at 5692 Miller Trunk Highway.
