An ever-growing mode of transportation in the Twin Ports is the two-wheeled kind.
Thursday night folks were meeting to make Duluth safer and friendlier for bicycles. This is the first of three city workshops addressing Duluth's growing use of bikes.
Duluth City Engineer Cindy Voigt says the City has some ideas how best to proceed, but they need bikers input to complete the plan. She says the focus now is on what everyone else thinks about where they want to see more designated bike space.
Voigt says a long-range urban bikeway system will be drafted based on public input.
There are two more public workshops: July 23rd at the Portman Community Center (4601 McCulloch St.) in the East Lakeside Neighborhood, and July 25th at the ARDC Building (221 W First St.).
