"Do Not Dump - Drains to Stream." That's the message coming from the City of Superior Thursday as they draw attention to where their storm drains lead.

Volunteers and the city's environmental services division spray-painted the message next to storm drains throughout the city.

Research Assistant Wendy Grethen said "some people don't realize that our sewers just go to a stream that ultimately goes into Lake Superior, and it does not go to a treatment plant."

On Friday the public is invited to an educational tour on the Superior Wastewater Treatment Plant at 4:00 p.m. It is located at 51 East 1st Street, one block toward the bay from the Superior Animal Hospital.

RSVP at 715-304-0392.
