Roads are closed but no one is injured after a semi struck an overpass near Bemidji Saturday.
The semi tractor-trailer was hauling heavy equipment when it hit the overpass of 15th Street NW at about 12:45 p.m.
No injuries were incurred and no hazardous materials were involved. The Highway 2 westbound lanes of the bypass around Bemidji at 15th Street NW are closed.
Westbound Highway 2 (Highway 71 northbound) will have to exit at Fifth Street NW/Division Street W. Traffic is detoured through Bemidji, or to County Road 11.
The detour for the construction project on 15th Street NW has also been changed. Traffic will be redirected all the way to Highway 197, instead of 23rd Street NW.
As of approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday, MNDOT, City of Bemidji and Beltrami County Highway Officials were on scene. A bridge inspector was enroute to assess damage.
