Eyewitness News has obtained the 911 call from the logging industry worker reporting the Germann Road Fire on Tuesday, May 14, at 2:46 p.m.
The worker called while his co-worker tried to put out the flames, according to the Wisconsin DNR.
Caller: There is a forest fire in Douglas County straight west of, or straight east of Gordon approximately 10 miles on County Highway Y.
Dispatcher: You said it is a forest fire? Are there any structures in the way?
Caller: No, but it is taking off fast.
Dispatcher: How big are you estimating it is right now?
Caller: It is, I come around the corner and it was small, and now it is big.
The DNR said negligence wasn't involved in the blaze and no charges will be filed.
