The family of a two-year-old kidney transplant survivor is now raising money to help others with kidney disease.

Two-year-old Jackson Beattie received a life-saving kidney transplant last july from his cousin. Now his family is paying it forward, helping others who fight the same battle. The Beattie family hosted "Jackson's Reckless Spaghetti Bash Fundraiser" today to raise money for their Duluth Kidney Walk team.

"So we just thought (we'd) have some fun raising money and eat some good spaghetti," said David Beattie, Jackson's father. "And a lot of people donated silent auction items for bidding, and hopefully we'll raise lots of money."

It's the Beatties' third year doing the Kidney Walk, but it's the first time they've done a fundraiser like this. The walk is next Saturday, May 18, at Bayfront Festival Park.
