HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - Gov. Rick Snyder has visited sunny western Michigan to help Holland mark the annual Tulip Time celebration.
Snyder addressed about 900 people at the tulip festival's luncheon Wednesday, then put on a traditional Dutch costume to march in a parade.
MLive.com reports that Snyder says West Michigan is doing well, but people have to stop being shy and brag about its successes.
It's the third year in a row Snyder has visited the festival that celebrates Dutch heritage, draws hundreds of thousands of people and features millions of tulips.
Organizers say the eight-day festival brings in visitors from more than 45 states and 40 countries. It started last Saturday and runs through this Saturday.
