Duluth, Minn. - Their opponent has not been determined yet, but the St. Scholastica baseball team knows they will have the top seed and that they will host the upcoming double-elimination UMAC Tournament.
Northland and Martin Luther will face in a play-in game on Thursday at Wade Stadium in Duluth to see who faces the Saints on Friday and that game will be CSS's first home game of the season. On Tuesday, the Saints had their first home outdoor practice as the Saints stepped onto the grass at Wade Stadium. Weather had forced them to play all their regular season games away from Duluth and yet, the Saints still captured their 17th straight conference title.
"(This is) very strange for us to get out here this late. We were out here shoveling off the warning track, with ice and snow on there still about a week ago and it feels very good to be out here. We are lucky to have a place this great to play at. We just have to play our kind of baseball, no errors, big hits and good pitching," says Senior Outfielder Kyle Flagstad.
"When you get to this point, you kind of throw records out the door and it is a whole brand new season, so we know that regardless of what we did against those teams during the season, we have to come back and be focused and get it done again," says Head Coach Corey Kemp.
