A Spin on Crappie Fishing

With spawning happening later in the calender year than we are used to, Wisconsin fishing guide Jim Stroede says crappie fishing should be productive until about June 1st. He recommends using a beetle spin.

"You can fish in shallow water and in any new emerging wheat growth and early in the year, it will be all about finding brush and new laid down trees around shore, places like that. The north sides of lakes get a lot more sun and warm up faster and fish are generally a lot more active in those areas," says Stroede.

    Duluth Police say the decomposed body found Tuesday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood is likely that of a woman who had been missing since last summer. Dale Elizabeth Gerard, 74, was last seen getting off a bus about five blocks away from where the body was found.
