Two men are being called heroes for helping save their friend's life. In an interview Wednesday night, the man who nearly died, spoke about his experience.
Frank Bucar said he collapsed from cardiac arrest on the basketball court at Stowe Elementary in Duluth back in December. Fortunately, Bucar said Steve Dudek and Tom Rzatkowski, some of the men he's been playing with for years, knew CPR. He said they kept him alive for nearly five minutes until emergency crews arrived and took over.
As Bucar continues to heal, he's sharing a message. He said "if you are not CPR-certified you should have it done today, tomorrow, or soon. Who knows when the next victim might fall."
St. Luke's honored the Dudek and Rzatkowski Tuesday night with Citizen Hero Awards.
