A Bayfield woman charged after a crash that killed her 2-year-old daughter last summer pleaded not guilty Thursday morning, according to the Bayfield County clerk of courts.
Twenty-four-year-old Chelsea Cadotte is charged with one felony count of second-degree reckless homicide and three felony charges for first-degree reckless injury.
In July of 2012, deputies allege Cadotte was speeding southbound on Highway 13 near Washburn with her three children and 15-year-old sister. Officials allege she was distracted by a child in the backseat which caused her to swerve and roll several times into the ditch.
All four passengers were ejected from the vehicle and police said they were not wearing seat belts.
Cadotte is scheduled to appear in court again on May 28.
