A program designed to help low income people get and keep a job is in need of your help.
The Damiano Center's "Clothes that Work" program in Duluth needs your donations. The program helps people get and keep work by giving out free clothes appropriate for jobs and interviews.
Damiano Center Assistant Director Krista Mulcahy told Eyewitness News that the program began in 1999, and continues to grow. "We often get people coming back to us not only returning as clients but saying how we have helped them get through internships or things like that where they needed clothing to get to the next point in their career. They have been incredibly appreciative," Mulcahy said.
Mulcahy said the Damiano gives out two outfits for anyone who is interviewing, and five outfits for people that already have jobs. Here's a list of some items needed:
- Suit Jackets
- Nice Shirts
- Construction Clothing
- Make Up
