The Eveleth Police Department is launching a new program to check on the health of seniors and vulnerable citizens.
The program is called the "Senior Assistance Freedom Enrichment Program." As part of the program, also known as SAFE, people call into the police department each day. If they fail to call in, police will check on them.
The program is to be used by seniors over the age of 60, with physical or mental limitations. It can also be used by people over the age of 18 with a handicap.
If you're interested in signing up, you can call the Eveleth Police Department at 218-744-7560.
